"Laki Laki Busuk"
Begitulah temen gue, Melanie, nyebut suaminya Hughes. Gue sempet ketawa sih waktu baca di blognya. Bukan ngetawain ceritanya lho ya, tapi lucu aja ngebayangin tampangnya Melanie waktu nulis that post, pasti bete and jutek abis deh. Keliatan dari kata2nya =)
Anyway, gue kaget juga waktu baca cerita soal Hughes itu. Maklum deh, gue udah ketinggalan banyak banget gosip2 selebritis Indo. But gue salut deh 'ma Hughes, kok dia bisa sekuat itu ya? Kok bisa tahan digituin? Kalo gue mungkin udah nervous breakdown dari dulu kali ya. Belon lagi omongan suaminya yang seakan2 Hughes harusnya berterima kasih udah dinikahin 'ma dia. Duileeeeeeeeee...Gemes deh bacanya. Btw, gue belon pernah liat suaminya Hughes. Kayak apa sih? Kalo menurut (lagi2) Melanie sih, "Godddddddd he's fat, he's ugly, and he's a fucking loser he can't even buy his wife a wedding ring!!!!"
Personally, I against any kind of domestic abuse and brutality, especially when it involves children. Kadang gak abis pikir kalo baca berita tentang istri yang dipukulin suaminya ampe babak belur, padahal dulu katanya cinta, t'rus ke mana cintanya sekarang? Lebih gak abis pikir lagi kalo ada bapak or ibu yang nyiksa or perkosa anaknya, itu lebih gak make sense lagi!!! He/she is your own flesh and blood for God's sake. Buat yang ibu2, anak2 itu keluar dari tubuh kalian!!! Kok yahhhh tega2nya sih???
Ahhhh...ngomongin ginian sih bikin gue kesel and sebel sendiri.
Thought for Today
"God give us the grace to accept with serenity the things that cannot be changed;
Courage to change the things that should be changed;
And the wisdom to distinguish the one from the other."

It's an Asian Americans Contemporary Issues class I'm taking this quarter. It's an absolutely interesting class. I never really put any attention to that issue, and now I'm loaded with information, sometimes it's just too much.
Gue baru tau kalo waktu Jepang menjajah Korea, they took a lot of young girls and women to other countries like Thailand, and Indonesia. I read a confession of a Korean woman who was sent to Semarang to be physically and mentally abused by the Japanese soldiers. She's among those who survived.
"You know, we die once, only once. It matters how we die. I was immensely proud of the way my parents died. The Japanese took our country away but they could not take the spirit of my parents. The Japanese defiled my body through and through but not my spirit."
And you know what, to this day, the Japanese government still denies its legal responsibility, and refuses to fully disclose all the facts and apologizes to the Koreans. Padahal udah disuruh 'ma United Nations, tapi tetep aja tuh Jepang ngotot ngerasa mereka gak salah! So arrogant. In fact, the whole country is in denial. When you ask a Japanese about this, they will go "Huh? No way." It's never mentioned in their history. They only know the good stuff.
Now, that's sad.
