Happy Sunday!
Cippi and I had an amazing time at the L.A. Farmers Market today. Oh my gosh, we had a hard time deciding what to eat. They all look so good! So we decided to try a little bit of everything we can.
I chose baby back ribs from Bryan's Pit Barbecue and Cippi picked a beef kabob. I like the ribs better than the kabob, the BBQ sauce is good. Then we bought a single scoop of Pistachio ice cream and we walked around The Grove, didn't shop though. Trying so hard to cut back since I'm planning to take a Master's Degree next year, but that's a different story.
Cippi's been craving for some crepes, so we went back to the market and got a La Napoleon crepe from The French Crepe Company. We got to choose 3 toppings for our crepe, so we chose strawberry with Nutella and Hershey's chocolate syrup. It's so good!
At the end of the day, we ended up buying some desserts from a small Greek bakery to go, and some hot sauces from a place called Light My Fire. They sell all kind of hot sauce there from the regular one like Sriracha to Nando's Extra Hot Peri Peri Sauce and all kind of other brands that you never heard before. We bought the Nando's Extra Hot and the 357 Mad Dog Hot Sauce. 357 stands for its scale of hotness which is 357,000 scoville. No idea what it means? Well, I watched a show once on the Food Network about a special convention for hot sauce, and if I remember correctly, the level of hotness of a jalapeno is 4,000 scoville, and pepper spray is about 1,000,000 scoville. Isn't that interesting? That's why I like watching the Food Network, other than because I like to eat and try something new.
You probably can't read it, but there's actually a disclaimer on the label saying that you'll eat the hot sauce at your own risk, bla bla bla. And if you're giving it to someone else as a gift, you should inform them about the risk.
The sauce is really really hot. It's so hot that it doesn't taste like a hot sauce anymore, it's bitter and it really burns your tounge. Now I know what the seller means when she said a bottle of it could last for a year or two. No shit! We can't even finish less than a teaspoon of it. I don't recommend you to use it as a dip like the regular hot sauce. It probably tastes better to mix it with a marinate sauce or something. I'm planning to try it sometime next week.
Overall, it was a great Sunday. We haven't had this much fun for a long time. We were so full too!
